This video is an interesting satire of the drug culture which has indelibly permeated the dance music scene.
What I extrapolated from the video was that we must constantly remember that Dance Music is really meant to be enjoyed as the art form that it is. It seems that as it has risen to mainstream prominence, many newbies and scenesters have relegated themselves to doing drugs at every concert rather than allowing themselves to be capable of appreciating this unique expression of sound.
It’s tragic, and in many ways this video stands as a subtle metaphor to remind us of that. I’m left rather perplexed by the meaning of the final frames. Give it a look, and if you have an opinion, feel free to share below.
