House Music, It's La Cosa Nostra

Missed a Spot

Sometimes, songs that are meant to be posted never grace the fine pages of Big10. It’s a shame though because many of these tracks are profound accomplishments and merit your download. Here are 3 doozies that are finally getting their moment.

1)Together (Original Mix)-Swanky Tunes feat. Mr. V.I. ***FUEGO***

This was probably the biggest no-brainer. Swanky Tunes have been getting so much love from SHM and Laidback, and this track was last month’s #1 on Laidback Luke’s monthly Top 10. Rightfully so, it’s a massive tune. No wonder then that it got played during the Masquerade Motel.

2)Strobe (Michael Woods Remix)-Deadmau5 *Hot*

Somehow, I had never heard this remix until yesterday. I knew Woods was working very closely with D5, and opening for him at all his tour stops, but apparently this was the remix that put him on the Mau5’s radar. It has a bass-line very similar to Cthulu Sleeps, infused on top of Strobe. some sampling/editing but for the most part with a masterpiece like Strobe you really don’t want to tamper too much with the original when you’re remixing it.

3) Rock Your Body Rock (Original Mix)-Ferry Corsten ***OLD FUEGO***

THIS is an oldie but goodie. 8 years old to be exact. Why does it merit posting now then? Because I’ll be making a trip to Chicago this coming Monday to see Ferry rock The Mid. First time seeing him in 6 years. Can’t wait.

Madeon! (Major Bandwaggon Jumping)

Consider today the day where I officially announce my Mancrush for Madeon, the 16-Year-Old French House Producer who is on an absolute tear as of late. After winning D5’s official “Raise Your Weapon” remix contest, the young gun has gained worldwide acclaim. Don’t let his age fool you though, this is not a gimmick…This boy has raw disco-house talent.

In other news…STREAMING IS BACK!

1) Raise Your Weapon (Madeon Remix)-Deadmau5

Madeon takes the heavy dubstep track and turns it into something that oozes neon.

2)The Island (Madeon Remix)-Pendulum

Love the synthy, new-wave sound that Madeon has captured. It’s an amalgam of 80’s, Complextro, and a plethora of other genres. I wasn’t hooked on Madeon though until I heard what he did to the song at the 3:20 mark. Wow.

Personal Jesus 2011

There have been a slew of remixes of Depeche Mode’s 1989 classic lately. Prydz goes in though.

1)Personal Jesus 2011 (Eric Prydz Remix)-Depeche Mode

Cannot wait for Prydz’s new album to drop. I have a feeling it’s going to epic. Speaking of epic, Anze at 310Electro tuned me into this dank new production that Prydz is performing with in Europe. You’re gonna have to go to Europe though to see it though, unfortunately, as the DJ/Producer is deathly afraid of flying.

Fifty What

Something wonky is going on with my file-hosting server, hopefully it is still letting all of you download tracks, it isn’t however, letting me upload anything new, so hit the jump below to be taken to the Mediafire Download Link.

1) Fifty What (Dem Slackers Remix)-Sandro Silva % Anjiro Rijo

I guess this track is a little old but Kissy Sell-Out played it during his weekly radio 1 show and I absolutely loved it. My guess is you will too. Love the sampling that sounds like an old kung-fu movie.

The Uprising…

Miles Dyson of PlasmaPool records has been making a name for himself. We all know Mord Fustang, but check out Hypster with a recent release called ‘The Uprising.’ The Electro-house record label continues to thrive with new recruits like this, and my boy Rob Cho aka ChoBot (first original mix to release on Beatport imminently) should find similar success and some dope producers to collaborate with. Good find Double D…

#1) The Uprising (Original Mix) – Hypster *Taken Down at Artist’s Request*

Open Your Guys

Quick post today so I can go enjoy the beautiful day outside. Here’s the Mifflin weekend anthem

1)Open Your Eyes (Tim Mason Festival Mix)-Alex Metric & Steve Angello ***FUEGO***

Phat shout to Anze at 310 for bequeathing me with this massive jam.

Miami Music Week Mix

I don’t like getting into the habit of posting mixes but this guy merits a serious listen and download.
