You Gonna Want Me

I’m a big Tiga fan. As such, you can imagine how content I was to see this release finally dropped, So I could stop listening to the crappy Erol Alkan set-rip that had a million BBC Radio1 Tags all over it still.

To be honest this track could have sampled the original more…I mean, it’s pretty much a stand-alone track with some vocal sampling which you would never know was “You Gonna Want Me” unless it was in the title, sans the break at the 3:20 mark. That said, it’s not a bad thing that this track diverges so much from the original, because it is a banger.

ps. In the vein of one of my music idols, Pete Tong, I will probably be dropping one of my weekly gigs, and instead do a 30 minute downloadable set every week. More details to come.

1) You Gonna Want Me (Hey Today! Remix)-Tiga (BBC Radio 1 Set-Rip)

I was going to wait until this one dropped to post it, but I just couldn’t deprive your ears of it any longer. Ripped from an Erol Alkan BBC Radio 1 Show, This track was almost picked as the Essential Track last week on Pete Tong’s Essential Mix. Tiga has been playing it pretty close to the chest in terms of a release date, but as soon as it drops, you’ll find it here. stay tuned.

Tiga/A-Trak

1) What You Need (A-Trak Remix)-Tiga

I love Tiga. I think homie is an amazing DJ, as well as a phenomenal producer. If I had one qualm with Tiga’s production, is was that sometimes it is just too mellow. He brings such an amazing intensity to his DJ sets, yet it seems to be missing sometimes from his original records. That is not to say that his work isn’t brilliant, because much of it is…But when you take another D2D favorite like A-Trak, and task him with remixing Tiga’s work, you come up with a beautiful product. This is said product, available for your listening pleasure.
