House Music, It's La Cosa Nostra

The Crookers

It took a remix by AC Slater and French diva Yelle to break them out of their slump.

1) Cooler Couleur (AC Slater Remix)-The Crookers

Somehow, Slater out-Crookers The Crookers on this remix. What really got me going about this track is that you have all these expectations built up for it in terms of what kind of track it’s gonna be, and then in one second Slater totally flips you on your head and fucks with your mind.

Ordem E Progresso

It’s World Cup time, the time that everyone is welcome to being an honorary Brazilian, so howabout some Brazilian House?

1) Para Da Gracinha (Sticky K Remix)-Crookers

So the other day I decided to expand my Sticky K catalogue after falling back in love with the 8000 Sticky K Remix

I came across this jam, a Crookers remix, so I decided to peep. How content I was to find that it had some nice throwback Crookers Elements, with a dash of the Sticky K grungy synths that are prominent in the 8000 remix as well. It also features Portuguese vocals, which are pretty sexy/unique. I’m a fan.

The Golden Rule

The Site is Gonna be Under Construction All Week, but the Music Doesn’t Stop

Here at B10 we’re big fans of the Golden Rule. For all of you impolite simps, that’s “Do Unto Others as you Would Have Them Do Unto You.”

We’ve been getting mad love from the homies over at All Things Go, Who went to Wisc aaaaaand Happen to be Redskins fans. so obviously they are golden in my book. Thus, I figured it was only fitting that we gave them a shout.

I encourage you to Peep Their Blog– lots of good tunes in the same vein as B10, and since house music is a movement, we need to support every front of the effort to bring it into the mainstream (without making it Black-Eyed-Peas shitcrap)

Oh, howabout some music?

1) Jump Up (The 2000 Remix) – The Crookers & Major Lazer

B10 favorite The Crookers have been coming up with so much shitty unbearable shit lately, but this is a change from that. Like many Crookers tracks, if I had to describe this one in one word, it would be “hard” def worth a listen, especially if you liked the Major Lazer original.

Il Cattivo

Forgot how much I loved this cut until I heard it in the homie MaxB’s Ultra video.

1) Il Cattivo- The Crookers

Remember when The Crookers were good? Yeah so do I. This cut was really one of their top bangers. Their production style brought such a sheer level of intensity that tracks like these really make you want to lose control.
