House Music, It's La Cosa Nostra

Throw-Back Crack

If you don’t have any of these essential jams already, I am mandating an immediate download. All are very different styles, but declaring them crucial to your Itunes is an understatement.

#1) Remedy (Avicii Club Remix) – Little Boots

Classic Avicii. His progressive house never ceases to disappoint. Rapture-esque.

#2) Hey Brap! – Laidback Luke, Diplo & Bart B More

Aggressive drop. Jams like this are why I excessively worship Laidback’s dutch house.

#3) Perfect Stranger (Steve Angello Remix) – Magnetic Man feat. Katy B.

Dope-show. If you don’t have this one, your missing out. Its little things like throwing the word “Change” before the drop that makes this guy the MASTER. Shout out to my boy Moses for enlightening me prior to hearing it drop NYE @ Roseland Ballroom.

#4) Silvia to Ibiza – Miike Snow vs. Swedish House Mafia

Ahhh what a way to end the post. Beautiful music. All that can be said. Used to only have set rips of this mash but I finally found an HQ version. Enjoy.

Look at Me Now

You won’t see any of the three guys above on Big10 very much,

But when their tracks are getting produced by Afrojack and Diplo, that’s reason enough.

1)Look at Me Now (Prod. by Afrojack & Diplo)-Chris Brown, Bustah Rhymes & Lil Wayne

Futher proof of the gap between hip-hop and house being bridged. Wayne has some clever rhymes but Bustah bodies the track.

Make You Pop

If you’re like me you’ve seen this commercial a billion times

If you’re also like me you wondered for a brief time what track was playing in the background.

How peculiar that I found this track on August 29th, intended to post it, but forgot, and now, under the context of its new added significance, I can finally post it in all its glory.

1) Make You Pop (Original Mix)-Diplo feat. Don Diablo

I just gotta wonder how Don Diablo feels about this whole Diplo commercial hype…I know he’s not getting a commercial anytime soon. In a way this track is significant because it is the track that Diplo selected for the commercial, and thus selected as the anthem for his inception into mainstream culture. The shit definitely pops though.

I went suuuuuper-hard last night. So you can imagine my utter disbelief when I get woken up from a vibrating cell-phone just now, and I have an e-mail in my inbox from Hyper Crush. What?

Could it be? The same HyperCrush I listen to religiously? I mean shit, I brush my teeth while listening to “LaLaLa (Hyper Crush Remix)” So you can imagine my excitement. Then I read the e-mail and see that the new exclusive they sent me is produced by Diplo? I nutted all over my comforter.

1)Ayo (Prod by Diplo)-Hyper Crush

Hyper Crush I know you guys are going to read this so I’m just going to put this on the table…Diplo/Hyper Crush collabo EP? Just 3 or 4 tracks, please? I’m loving the production here. it’s everything you’d want from a Diplo track. super-dutchy, great sampling, and of course those signature¬†Major-Lazer drums. Gotta love it. Hyper Crush brings their signature energy to the track, and the vocals/lyrics are tight all the way around. This is a banger.

Love the Fisheye-Lense, for some reason that’s what most of my nights feel like.
